Coenzyme Q10 works in conjunction with enzymes to convert sugars and fats into energy. Tissues with a high energy requirement are particularly dependent on an adequate supply of coenzyme Q10.
Coenzyme Q10 is also an effective fat soluble antioxidant, protecting cell membranes from free radical attack in a complementary manner to vitamin E.
